Marketing Work.

It was an honor to have the opportunity to work as a personal assistant to Ivey Jennings, owner and operator of Mimi Morton. Mimi Morton is a women’s apparel and accessories boutique which also dabbles in home goods and furniture. Known for its electrifyingly colorful designs which have quite an eccentric tone. Mimi’s main focal point tends to be large, apparent disco balls.

Most of the time I spent working for Jennings was throughout my Junior year at the University of Mississippi. It started with a modeling opportunity in Oxford, MS, which then turned into an assistant role. As an assistant I would design photo shoots, working closely with photographers and designers; organize inventory, send out orders, process wholesale orders, and build brand-to-customer relationships with fellow Memphis businesses.

One of the most exciting experiences with Mimi Morton was the Veuve Clicquot campaign/photo shoot which was featured in Scout Guide, Memphis. It was always such a pleasure working with and attending events with Stephanie Stephens, editor of Memphis Scout Guide. The Veuve picnic campaign was a marketing strategy for the Mimi Morton as well as a PR advertisement for the up and coming print reveal of Scout Guide, Fall of 2022. I thoroughly enjoyed designing, collaborating and helping the photographers capture the imagine in which Mimi Morton was going for. Collaborative moments like these are one of the reasons in which I am so passionate about the PR industry.

The second event in which I will highlight was the Mimi Morton X Social event hosted in honor of Cameron Silver. Cameron Silver is the current fashion director for the brand Halston, a luxury lifestyle brand. Silver is widely known as the founder of Decades, a vintage contour boutique located in Los Angeles. Many of the inventory of thus vintage boutique have come from years of traveling worldwide to hunt some of the most iconic pieces the fashion world will ever see. Silver has dressed clients such as Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Lady Gaga using Decades inventory.

I am greatly appreciative to Ivey Jennings for the opportunities in which I was willing to take advantage of through Mimi Morton. To deepen my appreciation for art and fashion, as well as see the world of fashion PR through a uniquely advanced outlets. I gained many skills through my time working with Jennings, such as coordinating brand collaborations, brand-to-customer relationship building, as well as strengthening my social media skills.
